Information about the courses & the waiting list

If you have not yet had a birth preparation or postnatal course, statutory health insurance currently covers the costs for these two courses online! The midwife in charge of the course is completely responsible for the settlement of accounts. As the health insurance does not cover missed lessons, the midwife may charge you privately for these. The midwife in charge of the course will clarify this with you directly.

If you are privately insured, you will receive an invoice which you can then submit to your health insurance company. The conditions of the respective private health insurance apply. Health insurances only cover the costs for the hours attended. For this reason, some midwives reserve the right to invoice missed classes privately.
All other courses must be paid privately directly to the respective course leader. All billing modalities are therefore handled by the course instructor and not by Kinderheldin.

At the moment we do not have any more dates available for direct registration for birth preparation and postnatal classes.
However, you will get a place on the waiting list if you register via the respective button above.
We will then contact you by email as soon as a suitable date is available for you.
Due to the large number of requests, we are sorting participation according to urgency and ask for a little patience. We will inform you about the further procedure by email, because we want you to be supported in the best possible way during this difficult time.
For all other courses, you can get more information and register directly via the corresponding button "Dates & Booking".

If your due date is within the next 8 weeks, you will regularly receive a link to book your appointment. If your due date is still some time in the future (at least 3 months), we have to ask you for a little patience.
Due to the many requests and the special situation, we give preference to women with an early due date.

We try to post new dates twice a week. So please keep an eye on your mails.

We send out course dates to women according to "urgency". This means that due to the many requests and the special situation, we prefer women who have their due date soon. If you still have 3 months (or longer) until your planned delivery, we ask you to be patient. Of course you will remain on our waiting list and we will contact you as soon as possible with course dates.

You will remain on the waiting list and can try again next time.

All courses consist of face-to-face modules and "homework". The face-to-face modules are the dates when you come together with other participants for the video course. In addition, the individual course leaders may give you further material to read, watch or do as exercises. You can then try these out or use them between or after the face-to-face modules.

As the course is taught live by a midwife, there is also time for individual questions. Keep in mind that the course lasts 90-120 minutes and that other participants may also have questions.
Of course, you can always contact one of our midwives with individual questions. Our midwives are available via chat from 7 am to 10 pm! You can always book a consultation via www.kinderheldin.de (the first consultation is free of charge and many health insurance companies also pay for Kinderheldin's counselling services).

Please note the cancellation policy of the respective course leader for all cancellations! Cancellation fees may apply.
If you cancel at least 1 week before the course starts, we may be able to assign your place to another woman! Remember that she would certainly be happy about this ;). You can cancel the course via the confirmation email you received. You will find the link at the bottom of the email.

No special technology is required for a course with us: you can use your computer or mobile phone for the course. As the course is video-based, you should check that your camera and microphone are working. You can then easily dial into the course via a browser (e.g. Chrome). You will receive the link from us.

Since all courses are video-based, it is advisable to have a working camera. These are already built into mobile phones or laptops anyway. This is also the only way for the midwife to check whether exercises are being done correctly or where support is still needed. Without a camera, the other participants would not be able to see you, which would also be a pity.

The courses are divided into several modules and each module lasts 90-120 minutes.
Our online courses are a kind of "crash course", so they usually only last 2-3 weeks.
Some courses also take place entirely over a weekend.
The course covers topics such as the anatomy of the pelvis, phases of birth, dealing with pain & feelings during birth, and preparing for breastfeeding and the postpartum period. As the course is live, you can ask the midwife all your questions about the birth.

All courses at Kinderheldin are offered by certified midwives with a lot of experience. They are responsible for the content and design of the course, so the designs can vary. As the course is live, you can ask the midwife there all your questions about the birth.
However, all courses have the following contents in common: The anatomy of the pelvis, phases of birth, dealing with pain & feelings during birth as well as preparation for breastfeeding, postpartum and parenthood are discussed in the course.

Since you are taking part in the postnatal course from home, your baby can of course also be present. However, your baby is not usually included in the exercises in the online courses. If a midwife offers a postnatal course with a baby, this is explicitly stated. All others are without baby exercises.
