We accompany you relaxed through pregnancy and baby time

Yes. All our midwives are certified and have several years of professional experience. They are all members of the German Midwives Association (Deutschen Hebammenverband).

The individual selection of a specific midwife is not possible at the moment, as this would prevent us from always being able to respond to incoming requests as quickly as possible. However, all of our midwives provide advice that is consistent with the same high standards and quality requirements. However, as we are continuously developing the service, we will at a later stage see if it is possible and useful to offer this option.

In order to guarantee you the best possible advice and reliable availability, we are currently not yet able to be available around the clock. However, from our experience so far, we are there for you when the benefit is greatest, i.e. especially in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays. However, it is possible to book an appointment for our available times (daily between 07:00 am and 10:00 pm) at any time.

When it comes to urgent and general questions about pregnancy, the postpartum period, and maternal and child health, our midwives are intended to be the first point of contact for expectant mothers and parents of babies. Our goal is to provide advice and support to (expectant) parents. Nevertheless, Kinderheldin is not a substitute for a doctor or an emergency room - in urgent cases, you should of course go to one of these options immediately. Midwives cannot and should not provide medical diagnoses and treatments.

The video courses were created by experienced midwives.

The birth preparation course is made up of video units of different lengths. Decide for yourself how fast you want to learn.

For the postnatal course, we recommend 2 x weekly exercises from units 1-3 and after 2-3 weeks from unit 4.

Our breastfeeding course consists of 13 short units that you can schedule flexibly.

The services provided by your BKK may vary. As a member of the following health insurance funds, you only have free access to the Kinderheldin midwife consultation: Bertelsmann BKK, BKK VDN, BKK ZF & Partner, BMW BKK, Novitas BKK and vivida BKK.

You can use the video courses in addition to your participation in a classroom or live online course.

We are a team consisting of midwives, doctors, programmers and young companies from the start-up ecosystem. For some time now, we have been dealing with the midwife emergency throughout Germany and an appropriate solution. A service where parents-to-be and parents of babies have the opportunity to get a reliable expert opinion on emerging uncertainties, everyday problems and health issues concerning their children in the shortest possible way. Just as it should be a matter of course in this day and age.

From our own experience and many reports from friends, we know how helpless you can sometimes feel when it comes to questions about babies, despite all the preparatory courses and literature. A lot of things you are doing for the first time, and often you can't immediately tell what is a serious problem and where your little one is feeling the pinch.

Since we find that help forums, Google and books are not the best guides in many situations, and you can't go to the doctor or the emergency room for every little thing - especially in the evening and at weekends - we have come up with a solution. Just as we would need it. That's exactly what we are now pushing ahead with full force.
